Basement Waterproofing in Des Moines, Iowa
The basement and crawlspace showed significant moisture damage, with water staining, mold growth, and efflorescence visible on the exposed brick foundation walls throughout the space. Expansive clay soils in the Des Moines area shift seasonally, placing constant stress on foundations without adequate drainage, and this home's deteriorated mortar joints and moisture accumulation indicated the need for comprehensive water management.
Epp Foundation Repair installed interior drainage and a sump pump system to manage water and direct it away from the foundation, along with waterproofing measures to seal the space against further moisture intrusion. The crawlspace was then encapsulated with a vapor barrier and finished with new flooring and LED lighting, creating a clean, dry, and usable space. The project was documented with 54 on-site photographs across 3 site visits by 2 crew members, ensuring thorough accountability and quality control.
Completed and documented on site by Epp Foundation Repair’s field crew. Serving Iowa homeowners since 1994.
