In typical Midwest loess and glacial till soils, our 3.5 inch shaft piers achieve 50-100 kips in compression and 30-60 kips in tension. 4.5 inch shaft piers can exceed 150 kips in competent soils. All capacity claims are backed by torque-to-capacity correlation per ICC-ES AC358 and the manufacturer's ICC report. For solar and commercial applications, we always recommend a test installation at the site before committing to a pier schedule.

A standard two-person crew installs 20-40 piers per day depending on site access, soil conditions, and pier depth. For large solar field projects, we mobilize multiple crews and have installed 150+ piers in a single day on open-field sites with favorable conditions.

We produce installation layout drawings and as-built records but do not stamp structural drawings. That requires a licensed structural engineer. Eastern Nebraska and western Iowa loess performs well for helical piers. The soil has consistent friction characteristics and responds predictably to the torque correlation. Sand and gravel near river corridors can be problematic. Northern Nebraska glacial till is dense and may require larger shafts or deeper installation. Kansas and Missouri clay has high bearing but significant seasonal expansion. We factor clay movement into our embedment depth recommendations.

Typically 2-4 weeks from signed proposal to mobilization for projects under 100 piers. Larger solar projects may require 4-8 weeks of scheduling lead time, especially during peak spring and fall installation windows. Call early. Our commercial calendar fills before our residential one.
