Fill The Empty Space Under Your Slab Before It Sinks
Voids under a concrete slab leave it with nothing to rest on. Epp Foundation Repair has filled those pockets with structural foam across Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri since 1994. No demolition, no waiting for a new pour to cure.

A local specialist will inspect your foundation, walk you through the findings, and send a clear estimate. no cost, no pressure.
What concrete void filling is and when it's the right call.
Voids form when the dirt under a slab leaves and the concrete does not. In eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, three things drive it. Expansive clay shrinks as much as 10 to 15 percent of its volume during a dry summer and pulls away from the underside of the slab. Loess and silty soils wash out when roof runoff or a leaking downspout funnels water along a slab edge. And poorly compacted backfill around a foundation keeps settling for years after a home is built. The slab bridges the gap until the unsupported span gets too wide, then it cracks or drops. Epp Foundation Repair fills that gap with a two-part polyurethane that is pumped in as a liquid through penny-sized holes, usually 5/8 inch, drilled on a grid across the slab. The two parts meet at the injection gun, react, and expand to many times their liquid volume in seconds, flowing into every connected pocket and then firming up. Because it is a mid-soil injection, the foam reaches roughly 4 feet down, fills the void, and presses lightly against the surrounding soil to fill loose seams. The cured foam carries real load, on the order of several thousand pounds per square foot, and it does not absorb water, so a wet spring will not soften it the way it can soften poorly compacted fill. Our goal is permanent stabilization of the slab. Some lift may be possible depending on conditions, but the first job of void filling is to give the slab solid contact again so it stops flexing over open space. The whole process is clean. Crews drill the ports, inject, plug the holes with a color-matched patch, and the surface is ready for foot traffic and vehicles the same day. There is no excavation and no tear-out.
How we install concrete void filling.
Slab Assessment and Void Mapping
Epp Foundation Repair walks the slab, taps for hollow spots, measures the drop with a level and laser, and traces where water has been entering. The crew confirms the concrete itself is sound and that the real problem is lost support, not failing concrete or an actively moving footing. Port locations are marked on a grid sized to the slab and the suspected void pattern.
Port Drilling and Foam Injection
Small ports, usually 5/8 inch, are drilled through the slab on the marked grid. The crew injects two-part polyurethane in controlled bursts, watching the slab and surrounding soil for response. Because this is a mid-soil injection reaching about 4 feet, the foam fills the open void first, then snugs into loose soil seams without overpressuring the slab.
Verification and Patching
The crew rechecks levels and taps again to confirm the hollow sound is gone and the slab now rests on filled support. Each port is plugged with a color-matched concrete patch. The surface takes foot traffic right away and vehicle traffic the same day, with no curing wait.
"Filling a void is cheap insurance compared to replacing the slab. The trick is doing it while the concrete is still in one piece, not after it's already cracked under a tire."
